Product Overview

Grade 1 titanium wire is a commercially pure titanium wire known for excellent corrosion resistance, high ductility, and good formability. It is widely used for wire forming, mesh, weaving, filtration, chemical processing hardware, and applications where maximum toughness and ease of fabrication are preferred over high strength.

Chemical Composition

ElementContent
TitaniumBalance
Iron≤ 0.20%
Oxygen≤ 0.18%
Carbon≤ 0.08%
Nitrogen≤ 0.03%
Hydrogen≤ 0.015%

Typical Applications

  • Chemical processing and marine hardware requiring strong corrosion resistance
  • Titanium wire mesh, screens, filters, and woven products
  • Medical and industrial formed-wire parts where high ductility is needed
  • Fastening, tying, lashing, and general fabrication in corrosive environments

Common Sizes and Forms of Supply

  • Diameter range: 0.10 mm to 6.00 mm
  • Supply forms: spooled wire, coils, straightened and cut lengths
  • Surface options: bright, pickled, or polished per requirement

Fine wire0.10–1.00 mmmesh, weaving, precision forming
Medium wire1.00–6.00 mmgeneral forming, hooks, ties, fabricated parts

National Grade Designations

  • USA: ASTM Grade 1, UNS R50250
  • China: TA1
  • Japan: JIS Class 1 (commercially pure titanium)
  • Russia: VT1-00 or VT1-0 equivalents used in some supply chains

Certifications and Standards

  • ASTM B863 titanium wire available
  • ISO 9001 quality management system available
  • EN 10204 3.1 inspection certificate available
  • Chemical analysis and heat/lot traceability available per order

Notes and Precautions

  • Grade 1 is selected for formability and corrosion resistance; do not use as a replacement for high-strength alloys without design verification.
  • Keep wire clean and dry during storage to avoid surface contamination that can affect forming or joining.
  • For welding, use appropriate titanium-grade filler selection and inert gas shielding per your WPS.
