Product Overview
Grade 4 titanium wire is the highest-strength commercially pure titanium wire grade, combining excellent corrosion resistance with increased tensile strength compared with Grades 1–3. It is used for demanding corrosion-resistant applications and for medical and industrial components that need higher strength while retaining the benefits of CP titanium, including good weldability and biocompatibility where applicable.
Composition chimique
| Eléments | Content |
|---|---|
| Titanium | Équilibre |
| Le fer | ≤ 0.50% |
| Oxygen | ≤ 0.40% |
| Carbone | ≤ 0,08% |
| Nitrogen | ≤ 0.05% |
| Hydrogen | ≤ 0.015% |
Applications typiques
- Medical components and devices where CP titanium is specified and higher strength is required
- Chemical processing and marine hardware under higher mechanical stress
- Industrial fasteners, fixtures, and formed-wire parts requiring improved strength
- Heat exchanger and condenser accessories in aggressive environments
- High-strength titanium mesh, filtration, and woven wire products
Common Sizes and Forms of Supply
- Diameter range: 0.10 mm to 6.00 mm
- Supply forms: spooled wire, coils, straightened and cut lengths
- Condition options: annealed or cold-worked per requirement
| Diameter Category | Gamme de diamètres | Common Uses |
|---|---|---|
| Fine wire | 0.10–1.00 mm | medical/precision parts, mesh and weaving |
| Medium wire | 1.00–6.00 mm | fasteners, fixtures, higher-load fabricated parts |
National Grade Designations
- USA: ASTM Grade 4, UNS R50700
- China: TA4
- Japan: JIS Class 4 (commercially pure titanium)
- Russia: VT1-0 / VT1-1 family equivalents used in some supply chains
Certifications and Standards
- ASTM B863 titanium wire available
- ISO 9001 quality management system available
- EN 10204 3.1 inspection certificate available
- Chemical analysis and heat/lot traceability available per order
- Medical documentation and additional inspections available on request
Notes and Precautions
- Grade 4 has higher oxygen content and higher strength; formability is lower than Grades 1–2, so confirm forming parameters and bend radius.
- Keep wire clean and protected from moisture and oils, especially for medical or welding use.
- For welding or critical joining, ensure full inert shielding and strict surface preparation per your WPS.
